1. Cheery Yorkshire bluesman’s hit albums set for 2CD deluxe reissues. Chris Rea’s eighties and early nineties gear has been expanded and remastered for release this October. The albums – Shamrock Diaries (), On the Beach (), Dancing With Strangers (), The Road to Hell () and Auberge () span Rea’s commercial peak and are to be reissued as deluxe double CD sets.

5. Part 2 that's supposed to follow is like some music for the road from there, music for the road to hell. I want to believe that Chris tells us to keep going rather than to crash, but be well aware of what is going on. And hey, maybe there'll be a spot to change direction somewhere down the road.

8. Also "Road To Hell", although not exactly a "rocker", moves at a better pace than "On The Beach" to me, and is a stronger overall offering. Chris Rea has a husky voice and is a great bluesy guitar player, often similar to Gary Moore or Mark Knopfler, but is a more appealing singer than Knopfler. Dire Straits or mid-period Fleetwood Mac come to /5(6).
